Gameweek 10 opens on Friday night with Everton against Coventry, two sides who have each won one and lost two of their last three rounds. Normally you would scroll straight past it.

FPG is simple: pick one Premier League team each round. If they win, you score points. It is +1 for a win, 0 for a draw, -1 for a loss, and the full rules are here.

Not this round. Round 10 is a Draw Means More round, which turns a draw into +2 — which is precisely what a match like Everton v Coventry is for.

Picks Lock at 20:00 on Friday, When Everton Host Coventry

The deadline is Fri 06 Nov, 20:00 UK, which is kick-off in Everton v Coventry. The round's ten matches run from there through to Sunday afternoon, finishing with Manchester United v Aston Villa at 16:30.

Leave it too late and the only cost is a small one: miss the deadline and a team is picked for you, it scores as normal, but if that score is positive you lose a point.

The Safe Pick: Arsenal at Home to Hull City

Arsenal are at home to Hull City at 15:00 on Saturday.

Their last three: 1-0 at Liverpool in round 9, 2-0 at home to Everton in round 8, 1-0 at Nottingham Forest in round 7. Three wins, three clean sheets, two of them by a single goal.

Sky Sports called that Liverpool result Arsenal's "first victory at Anfield for 14 years", a win that "opens up a three-point gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League", as of Mon 2 Nov.

Hull City arrive the other way round: 2-2 at home to Ipswich, 1-1 at home to Brentford, 0-1 at Fulham.

Worth knowing, though the report does not say which matches it covers: Sky Sports said Max Dowman "starts a three-match suspension after his Carabao Cup red card", as of Sun 1 Nov.

The other thing to weigh is how much Arsenal this league has already got through. Each team can be picked twice a season; 12 players have taken Arsenal twice and cannot go back, and another 44 are holding one.

Bournemouth Have the Same Run of Results and Fewer Takers

Bournemouth travel to Ipswich at 14:00 on Sunday, and they have won three in a row as well: 2-0 at home to Leeds, 3-0 at Manchester United, 2-0 at home to Sunderland. Ipswich have drawn two and lost one across the same three rounds.

Here is the part that is actually unusual. In nine rounds this season, Bournemouth have never once been the most-picked team in the game — not a single week. The league has barely dipped into them either: 7 players have used both Bournemouth picks and 25 are holding one, against Arsenal's 12 and 44.

That is the safe pick versus differential question sitting inside one fixture: the same three results, on a team this league has never yet piled onto.

Where the Draw Bonus Changes Your Mind

In a normal round you hunt for a winner and skip the tight-looking matches. This round, tight is the point.

Friday's opener is the candidate. Everton and Coventry turn up in the same shape: one win and two defeats each over the last three rounds.

Everton won 1-0 at Newcastle in round 9, after 0-2 at Arsenal and 0-2 at home to Chelsea. Coventry beat Sunderland 3-1, after 0-1 against Fulham and 1-3 at Tottenham.

The one piece of team news that matters here: Sky Sports reports Jack Grealish was left out at Newcastle and the club said he was "not match fit", with Moyes unsure whether he will be available for the Coventry match, as of Mon 2 Nov.

Nobody has the faintest idea how that match goes. Most rounds, that rules it out. Not this one.

The Call: Arsenal, 15:00 Saturday

Arsenal, and the draw bonus does not talk me out of it. If that match finishes level, a Draw Means More draw is +2 for everyone in it, Arsenal backers included. The result that actually costs this pick is a Hull City win, and I am not expecting one.

What a run like Arsenal's means is a side playing well. It does not mean a side that cannot lose, and I am not going to pretend otherwise.

Two alternatives, depending on your mood. Bournemouth at Ipswich is the same run of results on a team the league has barely touched. Or go to Friday night and back one of Everton and Coventry: a draw pays +2, a win pays, and backing the wrong one still costs you.

FAQ

Who should I pick in Gameweek 10? Arsenal, at home to Hull City at 15:00 on Saturday — the in-form side at home to one that has not won in its last three.

What does Draw Means More do to my pick? It turns a draw into +2 instead of nothing, so a match you expect to be tight is worth a look rather than a swerve.

When is the Gameweek 10 deadline? Fri 06 Nov, 20:00 UK, at kick-off in Everton v Coventry. Every pick for the round has to be in before then.

Is there a differential worth taking? Bournemouth at Ipswich. Three wins in a row, and fewer players have used up their Bournemouth picks than their Arsenal ones.

One pick, ten matches, and a draw that actually pays. Start playing FPG for free and get your team in before Friday night.
